Brazilian Butt Lift

About Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian butt lift is designed to reduce the size of the waist while enhancing the size and shape of the buttocks, giving you a more pronounced butt.

The Brazilian butt lift procedure is performed in two stages. First, the surgeon performs liposuction to remove unwanted fat from the abdomen, waist, flanks, thighs, back and arms. Then, the fat that was removed via liposuction is prepared for transfer. The fat is carefully processed to ensure that as many fat cells as possible remain alive. Finally, the harvested fat is injected into the buttocks, creating a round, full shape.

It is important to note that not all of the fat that is transferred will survive, but the fat that remains 3 months after surgery can be expected to remain.

Candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift

The best candidates for Brazilian butt lift surgery are women who have areas of unwanted fat and want a larger butt.

Even those without much body fat can be good candidates for Brazilian butt lift surgery. Since fat is harvested from the abdomen and thighs then transferred to the butt, most patients have enough fat to achieve additional fullness in the butt. However, it may be necessary to gain some weight if you desire a dramatic reshaping of the buttocks.

During your consultation with Dr. Hayes, he will discuss your goals and the shape you would like to achieve. He will perform a full assessment of your body, identifying areas of the body when you can remove or add fat to give you the shape you want.

Procedure & Recovery

Brazilian butt lift surgery is an outpatient surgery that is performed under general anesthesia. You will need to make arrangements to have someone drive you home after surgery and care for you for the first 24 hours after surgery.

A compression garment will need to be worn for the first three weeks after surgery to ensure smooth results and minimize swelling. Your buttocks and the liposuction sites will be sore, swollen and bruised for several days after surgery. Dr. Hayes recommends you avoid sitting for long periods of time and putting pressure on the buttocks for 3-4 weeks after surgery.

Most patients return to work within 1-2 weeks and should avoid strenuous exercise for 2-3 weeks.

Injection and liposuction scars are hidden within the natural crease underneath the buttock, allowing the scars to be concealed when wearing a bathing suit or underwear.
